WEEK 1 (22/10/2026)

Spice Hojicha and Floral Oolongcha

― with Japanese pumpkin pudding and French pear tart

Our very first post features two unique Japanese teas: Hojicha Japanese Spices and Oolongcha Minamisayaka.
The desserts paired here are somewhat classic, and somewhat exotic.
Let's discover the fun world of tea pairings with us!

Pumpkin Pudding paired with Hojicha Japanese Spices.

Hojicha Japanese Spices
x Pumpkin Pudding

― A classic roasty x mellow combination with spicy twists

For this roasty & spicy hojicha, a simple dessert with sweet & mellow flavors creates a perfect combination ― like this pumpkin pudding.

There are many types of pumpkin puddings, but for me the all-time classics is this Japanese-Italian fusion recipe. Together with the hojicha's roastedness like an autumn bonfire, the spices add good twists to this simple pumpkin pudding.

Oolongcha Minamisayaka
x Tarte Bourdaloue

― Floral & herby to enhance the delicate sweetness

The biggest characteristics of this unique Japanese oolong tea are its floral aroma and herby flavors. This type of tea goes very well with delicate sweetness, such as this classic French tart.

Tarte Bourdaloue is a French almond tart with pears born in the heart of 19th-century Paris. The floral and refreshing notes of this oolong tea enhances the flavors of this delicate tart. Perfect for an elegant autumn tea time, isn't it?
